10th annual TMH golf tournament is Friday in Craig
Compared to last year, there are a number of changes for the upcoming 10th annual The Memorial Hospital Foundation golf tournament, coordinator Eva Peroulis said. For one, the forecast for this year’s tournament calls for sunshine rather than rain. And, there are already enough teams. “We are totally booked,” Peroulis said. “This tournament brings in a lot of people, and I think it’s one of the biggest at the golf course.”
MCHS graduate drafted by Tampa Bay
Chris Winder goes in the 27th round of the MLB first-year player draft
Chris Winder, a 2008 Moffat County High School graduate, was drafted Tuesday during the annual Major League Baseball first-year player draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. Winder, who had recently completed his sophomore year at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas, was taken in the 27th round.

Although Moffat County High School was able to outlast Steamboat Springs High School boys varsity baseball team, 9-3, on Tuesday in Craig, manger Dave Roy said the improvement his team has made is easily visible. “We’ve made some changes, and we fell like we’re a lot more solid up the middle,” Roy said. “We have Carson Becker at shortstop, so we have some strength up the middle.”

For the last home game for his senior players, Moffat County High School coach Craig Mortensen would not have changed a thing. Not only did Moffat County win against Steamboat Springs High School, 43-29, on Tuesday, but the Bulldogs also snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Steamboat Springs girls varsity basketball team is looking for a win against Moffat County tonight to help the team into the playoffs. The slate of games starts at 3 p.m. today, when the girls junior varsity team plays the Sailors, followed by the boys junior varsity at 4:30 p.m., the girls varsity team at 6 p.m. and the boys varsity team at 7:30 p.m.
