Aw shucks... you "no" guys woould never do something like that would you? You just can't believe that anyone disagrees with you, is that it?

TC is lot more than "trouble", they provide a few hundred summer jobs. Until you have an alternative to fill the rooms how about helping the rest of us regular employed people out and not attacking our means of earning a living!

I agree triple crown people can be rude and obnoxious but on the other hand they bring in many $$$ of revenue for the city and local businesses alike. also who else will fill the new monstrosities that are popping up all over town?

Personally I don't care how much money they bring to town. I'm sick and tired of those spoiled brats running all over town and causing problems in my neighborhood.

Could someone give us real numbers on revenue.. depending on who you talk to the numbers change drastically. That said I wish we would market to people who enjoy being here, respect the natural beauty, and have some manners. Is that possible?

Scooter, all things are possible. Its the probability that hurts the idea. Simply put, Where are those people of which you speak? New York? LA? maybe Dallas or Paris. I met a nice person from Atlanta once.

you can't vote twice unless you are going to multiple locations. It tracks your IP address.. I really doubt many people would bother to influence a silly Internet poll by using different computers at different locations.. its not like they use these results for ANYTHING

I am interested in knowing what the difference is between the people who come here during ski season for 4 months with their ill mannered brats who fill up the restaurants and take up all the parking spaces and run amok through town, and the people who come here for 3 weeks in the summer. Both groups are families bringing their kids here for a vacation and recreation. Both spend plenty of money. I find the majority of Triple Crowners to be more well mannered and pleasant than the majority of skiers who come here with their sense of entitlement and superiority over the people who live here.
Why do we embrace the ski tourists and accept their bad behavior and their trash on the ground and get all bent out of shape over families who come to visit us in the summertime?

I think the factor that makes TC people so obnoxious is that they are here to compete. Their vacation is basically a competition, which seems to affect their attitude while here in town.

Ski tourists, on the other hand, are here to relax and have a good time. They don't have the competitive mindset the TCs do.

Hey guys,
I don't like it anymore than you do! I've lived her 25+ years and have seen the chamber and the local merchants build this community into a year round destination resort. The summertime Lincoln crawl home from work, is as bad as Denver's I25 crawl at 5 o'clock rush! West I40 Steamboat (not highway 40), still has issues! If Cripple Town, I mean Triple Clown, I mean Triple Crown goes' away, the revenue for taxes, profits goes' away as well! I think we depend on it like heroin. Who knows, maybe the help wanted signs will be taken down and the employment shortage will go away and the traffic will be less dense and our neighbors will move and we can get a spot to sit at the bar for once and blah....blah....blah! I guess Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, and Wyoming, still have less traveled places to live if Steamboat has lost it's quaintness. Until I finally loose it, I'm stuck in sharing our paradise with the rest of the world:.darn-it!

Having worked with and dealt with tourists first hand, I guess I don't find the ski tourists very relaxed and any easier to deal with than any summer tourist, much less triple crown guests. Believe it or not, the triple crown families that come here are just that, families whose kids play a sport and the families are here for VACATION. Just because they play a sport, go out to dinner and enjoy Steamboat's attractions does not make them bad people. It makes them tourists. Personally, I find the majority of triple crowners to be nicer and less demanding than ski tourists.

How about a poll to see how many vote twice or more in this supposedly unofficial poll?

How about a VOTE of the residents of the City of Steamboat Springs?

I poll of Triple Crown participants and non-resident Triple Crown supporters is of no value!
