Steamboat Springs Weather stations around Steamboat Springs recorded some much-needed cold rain falling between midnight and 7 a.m. April 19, and the moisture continued into the Tuesday morning commute. Between .03 and .07 inches had fallen by 7 a.m., when weather data is collected for the preceeding 24 hours.
However, West Routt got the best of the April showers, with a station in Hayden and another 7 miles southwest of Steamboat reporting .15 inches of rain.
The chance of precipitation in Steamboat increases during the day April 20 and rises to 70 percent overnight, with rain possibly changing to snow the morning of April 21.
Prior to Wednesday’s overnight rain shower, Steamboat had seen .29 inches of April precipitation spread out over four events. Normal precipitation for the entire month of April in Steamboat is 1.18 inches.
