10 Sailors skiers earn state trips

— The Steamboat Springs High School Nordic team started its season Saturday, and many members of the squad already punched their tickets to the season-ending state meet.

The Steamboat girls squad got things going with a third-place finish while the boys were ninth.

The event was at Snow Mountain Ranch and hosted by Middle Park High School.



Natalie Bohlmann led the way for the girls with a fifth-place finish in a 5-kilometer skate race. She was 59 seconds off the leader, Chelsea Moore, of Aspen.

Catherine Brodie was right behind Bohlmann, in sixth.



Eliza Leeson was 17th, Larkspur Skov was 21st, Mariah Hoots was 22nd and Lauren Requist was 32nd, all earning a spot at state.

McKenzie Millard was 42nd and Brittney Starks was 68th.

Peter Myller earned the trip to state among the boys with a 35th-place finish, as did Riley Brodie at 39th, Micah Gibbons in 40th and Ben Lingle in 43rd.

Tanner Richard was 48th, James Bradley was 67th and Techid Techarukpong was 76th.
