I have been a physical education teacher for the past 10 years in the South Routt School District, and overall, I have been teaching for 16 years. I just have to recognize the generosity of some wonderful people. Every day in the paper, there are articles about a variety of different things. There are articles on politics, economics, crashes, cuts, religion, freezes and sports. In the paper, there is an entire section on sports and different students getting scholarships for this or that, what team did well and what team didn’t or who bought this business or who sold that. Don’t get me wrong, all those things have their place, but I would like to recognize some different people.
I would like to recognize some people who are true heroes, as well. A heart-filled thank you goes out to all the students who had collected and to all the people who have contributed to the Jump Rope for Heart program (the American Heart Association).
It blows my mind how much the students bring in every year. These days, you don’t get as much as you used to when buying groceries and other items, but these people in Routt County always contribute to this program.
Again, students and people who have contributed, thank you for all your good will and contributions toward this program. You people are true life savers in my book.
