The Strawberry Park Elementary School Book Fair Luau is from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Thursday. The event includes an art show from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the school. Bring a picnic dinner and participate in contests, crafts, dance and more.
Weed management seminar begins at 1 p.m. Thursday
Routt County Weed Program and the Routt County CSU Extension office will present a weed management seminar from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Routt County Courthouse annex. The half-day seminar will cover the noxious and obnoxious weeds of Routt County, control measures and sprayer calibration. New students and experienced weed warriors are welcome. Deadline is Thursday for Community Youth Corps
The Community Youth Corps application deadline is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The Community Youth Corps offers Yampa Valley youths the opportunity to earn while they learn by contributing to community improvement projects. Participants must be 14 to 16 years old. Groups seek authors for gathering of local writers
The Steamboat Springs Arts Council, the Steamboat Writers Group and Off the Beaten Path Bookstore are planning a gathering of local authors in the summer. The event will include book signings, author talks and readings, food and entertainment. Interested authors should email Mary B. Benefit concert for Pastor Doug Zirkle is April 27
A benefit concert for Paster Doug Zirkle is at 7 p.m. April 27 at the Hayden Secondary Schools auditorium. Barry “The Bear” Ward, who won Male Vocalist of the Year in the Western Division of the Country Gospel Music Association, will perform. Donations will be accepted at the door to help the Zirkle family with medical costs related to a needed kidney transplant.
