— A winter storm warning is in effect for the Upper Yampa River Basin, including Steamboat Springs, according to the National Weather Service’s Grand Junction office.

The warning went into effect at midnight and goes through 6 a.m. Tuesday, the service reported Saturday afternoon.

The weather service predicts 8 to 14 inches of snow accumulation by Tuesday morning. Winds will come from the southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts from 30 to 40 mph. Hazardous driving conditions are possible with snowpacked roads and limited visibility, the National Weather Service reported.
