Steamboat Springs Yampa Valley Autism Program has rescheduled its annual Masquerade Ball to March 5.
The ball will take on more of a theme of Mardi Gras with prizes for best costumes, dancing and dining. The location is to be determined.

Friends of the Yampa to host fundraiser Nov. 20
Friends of the Yampa is hosting the Big Snow Dance at 5 p.m. Nov. 20 at Sweetwater Grill.
The family-themed event includes a silent auction, a pasta dinner, games of chance, ski movies and dancing to Missed the Boat.
The group is seeking donated items valued at $100 or more; e-mail tommylarson58@yahoo.com to help.
The cost is $20 for dinner and party ($5 for kids), and includes a drink ticket, or $5 after 7 p.m. The money raised will go toward recreational and environmental grants in partnership with the city of Steamboat Springs. Call Peter at Backdoor Sports for details at 970-879-6249.
Gingerbread houses for Merry Mainstreet sought
The third annual Merry Mainstreet event is coming up Dec. 11. Mainstreet Steamboat Springs is inviting professional and amateur gingerbread house builders to enter their creations by Dec. 3 for display in downtown Steamboat stores. Houses may be of any size but must be made of completely edible materials. All houses must be placed on a sturdy base for transport. There is no cost to enter. Prizes will be awarded. Library offers free training about electronic resources
Join a library reference assistant from Tuesday to Dec. 19 for a free, individual training or troubleshooting session to help check out audiobooks, eBooks, music and videos from Bud Werner Memorial Library’s electronic resources, Overdrive and NetLibrary.
Reservations are required. Call 970-879-0240, ext. 331, or stop by the Reference Desk on the second floor to make a one-hour appointment.
Dance studio is accepting registrations for 2010-11
Elevation Dance is accepting registrations for the 2010-11 session. Classes are available for ages 3 to adult in ballet, hip-hop, jazz, tap, contemporary, belly dance, Irish, Texas three-step and Zumba.
The studio’s dance recital is May 21 at Steamboat Springs High School; the deadline to register for the recital is Jan. 31.
Ski Ball supporting Winter Sports Club set for Dec. 4
The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club hosts the annual Ski Ball from 7 p.m. to midnight Dec. 4 at The Steamboat Grand.
The evening starts with cocktails, appetizers and a silent auction and will be followed by life music and dancing.
Tickets are $100; corporate tables are $1,500. Tickets are available at the SSWSC office at Howelsen Lodge or online at www.sswsc.org. The purchase deadline is Dec. 1.
