Q. When did you move to Routt County, and what brought you here?

A. 1997, to raise my children in a safe and beautiful town. I was done with Paris, Brussels, San Francisco …



Q. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken recently?

A. Remodeling my home.

Q. Describe your morning routine.

A. 6:35 a.m. Hit the clock three times, shower, coffee, pet Tiggy the cat, make breakfast for the boys, in classroom to work with my other kids!

Q. Has a book ever changed your life? What was it and why?

A. “The Color of Water” by James McBride; it was the first time I really appreciated reading in English, my second language.

Q. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

A. Be kind, be strong and be fair.

Q. What three things would you want people to know about you?

A: I have amazing, loving boys; I love my job; I love talking politics with great food and wine.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. A diplomat.

Q. If you could invite any four people to dinner, who would they be and what would you talk about?

A. Mac, my late husband; the Dalai Lama; J.J. Rousseau; and Martin Luther King. We’d talk about how can we make a difference in everybody’s life and promote justice.

Q. Do you collect anything?

A. Oui. French drawings from the 17th and 18th centuries, statues of Buddha and sunglasses.

Q. In the Meatloaf song, “I’d do anything for love, but I won’t do that,” what is that?

A. Eat bugs

Q. What was your first job?

A. Clerk at Marks & Spencer, a British retailer.

Q. Who is your favorite superhero? Why?

A. My son Louis, who is always watching after James, his older brother who has autism.
