Kathy Cain: Mother Teresa ad

— In the Dec. 22 Steamboat Today, someone ran an ad which quoted Mother Teresa (her name is not spelled Theresa as is show in the ad). I am sure the person who placed the ad meant no offense, however to place the words of Mother Teresa next to a picture of some god or goddess is highly offensive. Mother Teresa, as a Catholic nun, committed her life to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. She would not want to be affiliated in any way with images that would contradict her faith. There seems to be a trend these days to lump everything spiritual together; to blur the lines so that everything is OK, as long as you think it’s OK. This was not the way Mother Teresa lived, and it is important that we stay true to her legacy.
