Friday, Sept. 21

1:29 a.m. A bear was spotted behind a building in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

7:12 a.m. A man reported someone cutting sod away from his yard in the first block of Missouri Avenue. The man said there was a "dirt trail" leading away from the house.

9:03 a.m. A man in the 3200 block of Kelhi Court lost his 15-year-old bicycle.

1:05 p.m. A woman complained about skateboarders in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. The skateboarders were at the bus stop when officers arrived.

3:17 p.m. A loose dog was taken to the shelter from Whistler Drive.

3:30 p.m. A woman in the 1000 block of 13th Street reportedly heard running water, found the lights on in the basement and an empty candy dish, and thought someone had broken in. Police said there was no sign of forced entry and no one else was around.

4:09 p.m. A 39-year-old Thornton man was arrested on Routt County Road 129 on suspicion of driving without a valid license and speeding.

4:39 p.m. A one-acre piece of grass burned at a ranch on C.R. 179. Firefighters said the small brush fire did not threaten any buildings, and no injuries were reported. The fire was extinguished.

4:50 p.m. A man reported a car nearly running two other cars off the road on Maple Street. The car was gone when officers arrived.

5:35 p.m. A wallet was found in the first block of Logan Street.

5:57 p.m. Steamboat Springs police conducted an Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws special investigation in downtown Steamboat.

7:07 p.m. A bicycle was found near Ninth Street and Lincoln Avenue.

8:27 p.m. A woman reported receiving harassing phone calls. A report was taken.

8:36 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 700 block of Walton Pond Circle.

9:14 p.m. A 26-year-old Hayden man was arrested in the 500 block of W. Jackson Avenue in Hayden on suspicion of violating a protection order.

10:17 p.m. A 21-year-old Craig man was arrested in the 1000 block of Central Park Drive for being a fugitive of justice.

10:15 p.m. A two-vehicle, noninjury accident was reported in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square.

10:32 p.m. A drunken person was reported in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The person was gone when officers arrived.

11:50 p.m. A bicyclist was struck by a car in the 400 block of Hilltop Parkway. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic offenses.
