Ice hockey officials' seminars Sept. 15 and 16

— Ice hockey officials' seminars begin at 8 a.m. Sept. 15 and 16 at the Yampa Valley Electric Association building on 10th Street. Level 1 and first-year officials will meet Sept. 15. Level 2 and 3 seminars are Sept. 16. All attendees should be prepared for an on-ice session with helmet and skates. Level 2 and 3 officials should wear their uniforms. The cost is $10 for ice time. Volunteer training for Advocates begins Saturday

Advocates Against Battering and Abuse will begin volunteer training Saturday. Volunteer training takes 25 hours and will prepare volunteers to respond to its 24-hour crisis line. The training takes between four and six weeks to complete. Volunteers offer support, advocacy, information and referrals to victims of domestic violence and all other crime victims. Volunteers are asked to work between two and three shifts a month. Shifts are from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. weekdays and from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. weekends. Steamboat Art Museum in need of volunteers

The Steamboat Art Museum needs volunteers to work two- or three-hour shifts between noon and 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. All volunteers will be trained. Call Nancy Westphale at 846-0504 or the museum at 870-1755 for more information.
