Next Steps, a business planning workshop, will be from April 3 to 6 at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs.

The workshop will help entrepreneurs begin taking the steps necessary to make their business ideas a reality. The Small Business Resource Center, Yampa Valley SCORE and The Routt County Economic Development Cooperative will be hosting the workshop in Bogue Hall, Room 300. The cost of the four evening workshop is $80 and includes a business planning workbook.

Downtown sale one week later than usual

Main Street Madness Spring Sidewalk Sale is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and April 2. More than 50 stores and restaurants will participate.

Farmers market seeks vendors for 2nd year

Main Street Farmers Market is soliciting vendors for its second season. The market will be held the first and third Saturdays of the month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 17 to Sept. 2 on the Routt County Courthouse lawn and in the parking lot behind. Speaker to discuss

destination retailing

Nationally acclaimed marketing guru Jon Schallert will speak in Steamboat Springs on May 24 about "Increasing Sales and Profits by Becoming a Destination."

"For a business or a community to be a true destination, it must be able to draw customers from other cities and towns, miles away, past other larger, more dominant competitors," Schallert said. The seminar is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Centennial Hall and is offered to Main Street members for $25 and to nonmembers for $125.
