Whiteman Primary announces honors

Lowell Whiteman Primary School has announced its honors and high honors lists for the first trimester of the 2005-06 school year.

High Honors (90 or above in all classes): Ciar Colgan, Jonathan Milne, Claire Parsons, Clare Southworth, Christine Wolfe, Natalie Wright and Kendall Yeager.

Honors (85 or above in all classes): Brady Bender, Elizabeth Finch, Willow Fitzgerald, Taylor Gold, David Lea, Murphy Roberts, Alex Rudolph, Shaq Torrella, Charlie Von Thaden and Laina Weinman.

Realtors scholarship deadline coming up

The deadline to submit applications for Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors scholarships is March 30. The college scholarships are awarded to area high school seniors based on need, creativity, presentation, leadership in the community and a desire for continuing education.

For a copy of scholarship application guidelines or for a scholarship application, call Christine Hands at 879-5771 or Jody at 879-4663, ext. 11.

Area high school counselors also should have the scholarship information.

Donations sought for Hayden prom party

Hayden's after-prom committee is seeking donations for Hayden High School's fifth annual after-prom party, scheduled for April 29.

The party at the Routt County Fairgrounds exhibit hall is designed to keep local students and the community safe on prom night. Cash or prize donations can be mailed to the high school, P.O. Box 70, Hayden, CO 81639. The committee also is looking for volunteers to work the after-prom party. Steamboat Middle School tree sale going

The Steamboat Springs Middle School's annual tree sale is under way. The tree sale and fundraiser promotes Earth Day and raises money for a variety of educational programs and needs, including textbooks, outdoor activities and science camp tuition. Tree and plant orders must be made by April 30. Trees and plants will be available for pickup May 5. Call Matt Tredway at 871-3568 or Jeff Keller at 871-3534 information.
