Pee-wee wrestling to start Tuesday

The Yampa Valley Wresting Club kicks off its pee wee season Tuesday with a meeting at Steamboat Springs Middle School.

The 5:30 p.m. meeting will be an opportunity for potential wrestlers to try the sport, meet the club's coaches and to sign up for the program.

Registration costs $75 and includes a T-shirt, wrestling card (insurance) and tournament fees. Scholarships are available.

Second-graders and experienced wrestlers who sign up for the program will meet for practice at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The practices are scheduled to end at 7:30 p.m.

Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first-grade students with limited experience will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Those practices are scheduled to run until 7 p.m.

The season is scheduled to run until April 22.

The youth program is designed for wrestlers in kindergarten through sixth grade. For more information about the club, call Richard Atkinson at 879-4976.
