Friday, June 23

4:09 a.m. Someone reportedly saw a man wearing baggy pants staggering near Lincoln Avenue and Hilltop Parkway. Officers contacted the man and gave him a verbal warning.

7 a.m. A 66-year-old Steamboat Springs man was flown to a Fort Collins hospital after a train reportedly hit his 1996 Chevrolet pickup at a railroad crossing near U.S. Highway 40 and Saddle Mountain Ranch west of Steamboat Springs. Colorado State Patrol troopers said the man was inching his pickup onto the tracks to look for the oncoming train when the train struck the vehicle's left side and pushed it down an embankment, causing the truck to roll. The man sustained injuries to his head, ribs and shoulder. The man was in serious but stable condition Saturday morning, police said.

8:32 a.m. A truck reportedly hit a cement mixer near Whistler and Walton Creek roads. No one was injured.

8:43 a.m. Two semis and a minivan were involved in an accident on U.S. 40 west of Hayden. Police said a deer jumped in front of a semi, and the driver swerved to avoid the deer, causing the truck to go off the road and jackknife. A second semi and minivan swerved to avoid the first semi and struck each other. No one was injured.

10:10 a.m. A dog owner was given a warning for a barking dog in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

10:54 a.m. Someone reportedly was bit by a dog in the 1300 block of Skyview Court. A report was taken.

12:41 p.m. A woman was taken to the hospital from the first block of Logan Court on suspicion she had overdosed on drugs.

2:25 p.m. Officers mediated a verbal dispute in the 800 block of Howelsen Parkway.

3:03 p.m. A man reportedly lost his digital camera at The Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs.

3:13 p.m. A man reportedly lost his cell phone somewhere in Steamboat Springs.

3:48 p.m. A man in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue reportedly forgot where he left his car, and he reported the car stolen. Officers helped the man find his car.

4:58 p.m. A 22-year-old Boulder man was arrested on suspicion of driving under suspension, possessing a Schedule I controlled substance and failing to signal near Lincoln Avenue and Walton Creek Road.
