Why you should go: Because like me, you are still obsessed with the '80s, and these guys are awesome!
¤ Hillstomp with American Relay
When: 10:30 p.m.
Where: Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, 628 Lincoln Ave.
Why you should go: Because John Johnson and Henry Kammerer of Hillstomp are the funnest musicians I have interviewed, and I don't think funnest is a word. And American Relay is a great band.
¤ "One Night Only," Perry-Mansfield faculty showcase of dance and musical theater
When: 8 p.m.
Where: Julie Harris Theatre at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp
Cost: $12 for adults, $10 for children ages 10 and younger
Why you should go: Julie Ludwick will be performing one of her fabulous trapeze pieces.
¤ 21st annual Decadent Desserts fundraiser
When: 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Catamount Ranch & Club golf clubhouse
Cost: $25; tickets are available at All That Jazz, Off the Beaten Path Bookstore, Moose Mountain Trading Co., Cantafio's and at the door
Why you should go: First, because you will be supporting Advocates Against Battering and Abuse. And second, because it is an incredible opportunity to taste amazing dessert creations from local chefs.

Where: Strings in the Mountains Music Festival Park, 900 Strings Road
Why you should go: Vasyl Popadiuk's charming accent.
