Former Steamboat Springs resident Jerri Anne Dorr died in her home in Prescott, Ariz., on Jan. 15, 2006, after a short illness. She was 68.
Jerri was born Sept. 15, 1937, in Missouri. She grew up in Denver and lived there for some time. After Denver, Jerri made her home in Steamboat Springs as the mother of three children. She married Bob Dorr of Steamboat in 1978, and they moved to Prescott in 1995.
In Steamboat, she will be remembered as the owner of the Hatch Bar, a downtown drinking and dancing establishment where everyone gathered and was welcome. Her marriage to Bob, a Routt County commissioner for a time, involved her in social and community events and with his significant family.
Others will remember her management of the Hayden Airport Bar when that airport began accepting direct flights bringing skiers from across the United States. When the Dorrs went to Arizona, she transferred her considerable hospitality skills to the Antelope Hills Golf Course Bar and Grill in Prescott as a restaurant and bar owner with her partner Bob for several years.
Jerri is survived by her husband, Bob Dorr of Prescott; children, Michael Doty, Ronald Doty and his wife Jackie, and Linda Widman and her husband Ed; grandchildren, Shaylon and Shasta Doty, and Christopher, Adam, Michael and Elise Widman.
The family looks forward to a remembrance ceremony in Steamboat in the summer.
The family appreciates the generosity of Catholic Social Services of Prescott during Jerri's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Social Services of Prescott, 434 W. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301.
