The Steamboat Roughnecks men's lacrosse team is hosting its annual tournament this weekend at Whistler Park.
The team, made up of men ranging from those in high school to middle-age men, will join the six-team field, which is double the size of the field from last summer's tournament.
"We have played a few games this summer," tournament coordinator Kevin Olsen said. "A lot of guys are back from last year's team, and we have a good amount of new faces. It will be interesting to see what the mountain towns bring."
In addition to Steamboat Springs, Vail, Breckenridge, Durango and two teams from Denver will be taking part in the tournament.
"I think Durango should be pretty good," Olsen said.
Steamboat opens the tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday against Vail. The tournament lasts from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon. All games will be at Whistler Park.
Steamboat's men's lacrosse team practices each Tuesday, and Olsen said the team is ready to play on its home fields.
"We have a good goalie," Olsen said. "That's our secret weapon."
