Members of the U.S. Ski Jumping Team warmed up for the Summer Grand Prix by posting several top finishes in two meets in Oberstdorf, Germany, this week.
On Saturday, Steamboat Springs' Clint Jones posted a 10th in a Continental Cup ski jumping meet. German Georg Spaeth won the meet.
It was the sixth Continental Cup of the summer and Jones' third top-10 finish. The Steamboat jumper posted efforts of 119 and 122.5 meters, which were good for 228.7 points. Teammate Tommy Schwall was 38th, Brian Welch of Scarborough, Maine, was 62nd, and Anders Johnson of Park City, Utah, was 63rd.
On Sunday, Jones missed the cut but was the top American in the event, placing 32nd.
German Michael Neumayer, who was second in Saturday's meet, won Sunday's event with jumps of 131 and 134 meters. Jones jumped 117 meters and finished 32nd. Schwall was 36th.
The ski jumpers now will move to Hinterzarten, Germany, for the start of the Summer Grand Prix on Saturday and Sunday.
