Volunteers needed for 23rd Steamboat Marathon

Volunteers are needed to help June 5 and 6 for the 23rd annual Steamboat Marathon. Volunteers will receive an official event T-shirt and lunch on race day. Call 879-0882, ext. 203.

New pony club forming, will meet Saturdays

The Down Valley Pony Club, a satellite of the Yampa Valley Pony Club, is forming and will meet Saturday mornings in Hayden and weekday mornings in Craig and Steamboat Springs, as needed. Volunteers needed for Rio 24-hour bike race

The Rio 24 Hours of Steamboat bike race is seeking volunteers to help with the event June 12 and 13. Course marshalls, emergency personnel, timers, aid-station workers and other volunteers are needed. Register at Sore Saddle Cyclery or call 879-1675.

Club offers barrel racing, pole bending and fun

The Routt County Gymkhana Club begins meeting June 10 at the Brent Romick Rodeo Arena, offering barrel racing, pole bending and fun for all ages and abilities. Call 879-2963.

Collections being taken

to send to soldiers in Iraq

Individuals who would like to send children's cards, letters, artwork and other tangible goods to soldiers in Iraq can drop those items off at Steamboat Real Estate at 635 Yampa St. Items also may be mailed to the Yampa Valley Community Foundation at P.O. Volunteers needed for Shabby Chic Garage Sale

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council needs volunteers to help with its Shabby Chic Garage Sale. Help is needed during drop-off times, from noon to 4 p.m. May 22 and 23, and June 5, the day of the sale. Call 879-9008, ext. 100.

TIPS classes to be held May 25,26 for $20

Peace potluck Sunday, breakfast held Monday

Natice plant workshop in botanic park next Saturday

Yampatika hosts a hands-on conference about Northwest Colorado's native plants from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 22 at the Yampa River Botanic Park. Registration is required, and lunch is included. The cost is $40. Call 871-9151.
