Cancer survivors to talk about 'chemo brain'
Cancer survivors are struggling with a multitude of issues. Treatment can cause issues ranging from nausea and vomiting to hair loss and fatigue. One side effect that often is given little attention is a cognitive dysfunction referred to as "chemo brain" that can cause great stress and that often goes untreated. Taking Charge, a monthly educational support group for people living with cancer, will address the issue this month. Guest speaker Connie Carson will speak about the effects chemotherapy has on the brain. Taking Charge, which is sponsored by the Visiting Nurse Association, will meet at noon March 31 at the Yampa Valley Medical Center in Conference Room 1. Lunch will be provided. Call Katy Thiel at the VNA 879-1632, ext. 33, with questions.
