Clay Artisans seeks nonprofit group

Steamboat Clay Artisans' Soup Bowl Supper Committee is seeking a nonprofit organization to be the beneficiary of its 2004 fund-raiser.

For the past two years, members of the Steamboat Clay Artisans have created handmade, one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls that are given away to ticket holders at the event, as well as other ceramic items that are auctioned during the fund-raiser. The fund-raiser is expected to net at least $5,000 for the beneficiary.

For the fund-raiser, SCA creates the ceramic wares, handles publicity and provides member-volunteers at the event to distribute the bowls, take tickets and coordinate the silent auction. The group requests that the beneficiary organization help sell tickets, procure food donations and manage the food service at the event (table settings, serving trays/pots, serving food, clean-up).

To be considered as this year's beneficiary, submit a letter of interest no later than Feb. 15. State the name and purpose of the organization, how it would use the donation and the extent of volunteer assistance the organization would provide. Letters should be addressed to SCA, P.O. Box 882111, Steamboat Springs, CO 80488, Attn: Soup Bowl Supper Committee. The selection of this year's beneficiary will be made and announced no later than March 31. Call Deb Babcock at 846-9349.
