William 'Wade' Hatcher (1930-2004)

Clark resident William "Wade" Hatcher died Jan. 6, 2004, at his home. He was 73.

Wade was born in 1930 in Knoxville, Tenn.

He practiced medicine as a general vascular surgeon at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla., for 27 years. He retired in 1994 and moved to Clark.

Wade was an accomplished machinist, gunsmith, hunter and outdoorsman. He served as a volunteer wilderness ranger for the U.S. Forest Service for the past nine years.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Janelle; a son, Gregory Wade of Cario, Ga.; two daughters, Holly Marigliano of Edgewater, Md., and Julie Martin of Manheim, Penn.; a stepson, Steve Murphy of Rocky Mount, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Shelly Sourbeer of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandsons and two granddaughters.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Wade's life is at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at the Depot Art Center.

The family requests that donations be sent to Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat.
