11s Club invites public to enter homecoming parade
Soroco High School's 11s Club invites community members and organizations to enter Friday's homecoming parade. Entry forms can be picked up at any South Routt post office or at the high school office. Entries must be turned in by 4 p.m. today. This year's homecoming theme is "Survivor on Soroco Island, home of the reigning Rams." Call 736-2531, Ext. 4106.
Rosh Hashanah begins
at sundown Friday
The Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown Friday. Steamboat Springs' Jewish community group Har Mishpacha will celebrate with a Shabbat service with Rabbi Joseph Goldman at 7 p.m. at the Church of Latter-day Saints.
A morning service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Latter-day Saints. A Tashlich ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Dr. Rich Weiss Memorial Park across from the Health and Recreation Center.

The directory lists health and human service agencies, government and educational agencies and other organizations that benefit the residents of Routt and Moffat counties. Library to continue series 'It's a Girl Thing' this fall
Bud Werner Memorial Library will continue its book discussion series for girls and women called "It's a Girl Thing" this fall. The free program is open to girls ages 10 to 13 and a woman of significance in their lives, such as their mother, grandmother, friend or teacher. Each pair will be given a copy of the discussion book to keep. Pairs may sign up for one or two discussions. The program will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 10, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5 at the library. Children's Bible classes begin Wednesday
"Awana," a nondenominational children's program emphasizing memorization and understanding of key Bible verses, takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays beginning today at Anchor Way Baptist Church. Call 879-7062.
Search and Rescue
Fund-raiser is Saturday
The eighth annual Routt County Search and Rescue Fund-raiser is from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the Bear River Bar and Grill. Tickets are available from any Search and Rescue member and at Johnny B. Good's and are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Ticket price includes dinner, two silent auction sessions and door prizes.
