6:41 a.m. Police responded to a home in the 1400 block of Athens Plaza, where an intoxicated male who allegedly entered the home was being held at gunpoint by the resident of the home. The resident heard the intruder enter and ordered him to the floor, after which he called police. The intruder was taken to jail and booked for trespassing. It is not known whether the man entered the home by mistake. Nothing was reported missing.

6:04 p.m. Police responded to a burglar alarm in the 2700 block of Alpenglow Way. Doors to the residence were locked, and police believe it was a false alarm.

7:07 p.m. A large group of people was spotted on a softball field at Howelsen Hill. When an officer approached the people it was discovered they were drinking from a keg of beer set up on the pitcher's mound and playing a game of kickball. Police informed the individuals that the fields close at dark and reminded them of the open-container law. The group left the field.

8:15 p.m. A caller reported a group of kids launching items into traffic lanes at the intersection of U.S. Highway 40 and Anglers Drive. The kids were gone when police arrived on scene.

8:20 p.m. Police and fire personnel responded to a fire and smoke report at a storage unit in the 1900 block of 13th Street after a man who was putting items into a storage unit noticed smoke emerging from another unit. After cutting the locks off about six units, emergency personnel found the source of the smoke: a lit cigarette left inside a trash can in a storage unit had ignited a rubber knee pad. The fire was extinguished.

11:11 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol on U.S. 40 near the Hampton Inn and Suites.
