Police look for witnesses in motorcycle theft
Some time between midnight and 8 a.m. Wednesday, a Harley Davidson motorcycle worth about $25,000 was stolen from the street in front of 750 Weiss Drive.
The bike, a 2003 100th anniversary edition Soft Tail Deuce, was black with chrome accents. The license plate, Colorado 296HJI, was mounted vertically on the left rear fender.
Any witnesses to this crime are asked to call Routt County Crime Stoppers at 870-NAB'M (870-6226). This line does not have caller ID. You will remain anonymous and can earn up to $1,000 for your information.
Advocates holds volunteer training session Oct. 14

'Music for the Fun of It' offered in Hayden
The Hayden school music department has started "Music for the Fun of It," a program designed to make music approachable to all people regardless of musical experience. A six-week guitar class for beginning and intermediate students will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 8, in the Hayden High School band room. The cost is $30. Lesson books will be available for purchase at the first lesson. The class is open to ages 10 and older; enrollment will be limited to 15 students. Call 276-3761 .

Oct. 15 election forums
The Steamboat Pilot & Today and KRMR radio will host a pair of election forums on Oct. 15. A midday forum will be from noon to 2 p.m. at Centennial Hall and an evening forum will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Olympian Hall. Because of the number of Steamboat Springs City Council and School Board candidates attending and several ballot issues that will be discussed, questions will not be accepted from the audience during the forums. Instead, residents are encouraged to submit questions in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org or krmrtalk@
yahoo.com by Oct. 8.
The questions posed to candidates during the forums will be chosen from those received by the newspaper and KRMR radio.
Dance auditions for winter concert set for Oct. 12
Steamboat Dance Theatre will hold auditions for its 32nd annual winter concert on Oct. 12 at the Northwest Ballet studio, 326 Oak St. Sign-in will be at 3 p.m., warm-up at 3:30 p.m. and auditions at 4 p.m. The audition fee is $10, which includes an annual Steamboat Dance Theatre membership.
The concert will take place March 4, 5 and 6 at Steamboat Springs High School.
