Wendy Jo Jones, a former Steamboat Springs resident, died March 13, 2003, in Niwot, Colo., after a battle with cancer. Wendy was 64.
Wendy was born July 11, 1938, in Freeport, Ill., to parents Frank Burt and Betty Becker.
In 1963, Wendy married Dr. Daryl R. Burns. The couple divorced in 1970. She later married Paul Jones. That marriage also ended in divorce.
Wendy lived in Steamboat from 1979 to 1995. She moved to Niwot from Phoenix, Ariz. Previously, she lived in Santa Fe, N.M.
Wendy worked various jobs, including time as a real estate agent, a retail sales executive and a business owner.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Boulder. Wendy was an avid world traveler, teller of tales, friend-maker, flautist, weaver and knitter. She could take any place and make it a home.
Wendy is survived by two daughters; Kristen Burns of Longmont and Shauna Burns Silver of Fort Collins; and a brother, Frank Burt, Jr., of Jackson, Wyo.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Boulder. A reception will follow the services.

Oak Creek resident Michael Nolan passed away March 8, 2003, at Yampa Valley Medical Center. He was 44.
Michael was born May 5, 1958, in Reno, Nev., to Barney and Florence Nolan.
He was raised in Oak Creek, where he graduated from high school.
Michael worked for various ranches in the Oak Creek area.
He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by two sisters, Shelly Salazar of Oak Creek and Sherlyn Montgomery of Yampa; and a stepfather, Frank Salazar, of Oak Creek.
Memorial services were held March 13 at Oak Creek Methodist Church.
