Hayden Blake celebrated his 10th birthday on Saturday with his friends Casey Zabel, Dakota Zehner and Ryan Zehner. They had a slumber party and loads of fun.
Julie Redmond did story hour at the Hayden Library. Thirteen children attended and enjoyed the four different stories and made paper pizzas as an activity. Raelynn Otto will be doing story hour on Thursday. She will be sharing "Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the Three Blairs." The kids will be doing an activity afterwards with bears. Story hour is at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Hayden Library. It's a great chance for children and mothers to enjoy books and activities together. The Hayden Band will be doing some fund-raising by selling lollipops to the community. The funds will go toward their band trip.
Connie and Mike Bell enjoyed a trip to Phoenix, where they settled Eric in for school. On the way home, they stopped in Las Vegas.
Ilene and Lee Coffelt were also in Las Vegas visiting their son, daughter-in-law and grandchild.
Peggy Koehler took a trip to Denver to visit with her children.
Ellen Bullard will be helping out her daughter in Denver, who recently had surgery.
Karen Fox has been in Fort Morgan to be with her sister, who recently lost her husband.
There will be a sled party today that is being put on by the recreation department. It had a skating party on Jan. 6 that was a great success. Hot dogs, brats, hot chocolate, games and prizes were received by the 12 kids that came to skate.
Garrett O'Hanlin celebrated a birthday with a pool party in Craig at the Holiday Inn.
High school basketball games will be Tuesday with the boys playing in Hayden against Moffat County and the girls will be traveling to Craig. Games start at 5:30 p.m. Both boys and girls high school basketball teams will be playing Friday against Meeker. Games will be in Hayden, starting at 3:30 p.m. They will again be playing in Grand Valley on Saturday, games starting at 1 p.m.
The wrestling team will have matches at 6 p.m. Thursday at Rangely and then travel to the Leadville tournament on Saturday. The times for these matches have not been announced.
The Mott family is busy getting ready to open their new business, Timberline Candy Bouquet. The doors will open Feb. 1 and the business is located at the east end of town in the building that used to be the rental car place. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Not only will they be selling candy bouquets, but they will have bulk candy, Ty Beanie Babies, gift items and helium balloons. Some of the candy will be imported from all over the United States and other countries. They will be doing custom orders, delivery and shipping to anywhere in the United States.
