AMERICAN SKIING CO. STOCKS JUMPS IN THREE-DAY RALLY
STEAMBOAT SPRINGSThe stock of American Skiing Co., parent of the Steamboat Ski Area, continued a three-day rally on the New York Stock Exchange Friday, closing at 77 cents a share.
The stock had dipped as low as 48 cents on Jan. 2 before beginning its rebound.
Friday's gain of 17 cents represented a 28-percent increase on volume of 86,100 shares.
TREAD OF PIONEERS HOSTS EDWARD S. CURTIS PHOTO EXHIBIT
STEAMBOAT SPRINGSTread of Pioneers presents "The Life and Work of Edward S. Curtis" photography exhibit through June. Curtis was an early 20th century sepia photographer that reproduced images of Native Americans and their lifestyle. Photo Express House sponsors the event. HORIZONS SEEKS HOUSEHOLD ITEMS FOR SUPPORTED LIVING HOME
STEAMBOAT SPRINGSHorizons is establishing a new supported living home for several clients.
New or used household items and furniture are needed and can be donated by calling Kay at 879-4466.
A registry has been set up at True Value Hardware and at the Wal-Mart jewelry counter listing items needed by clients.
True Value will donate 10 percent of the purchase price of items bought at the store to Horizon Specialized Services.
Horizons also is seeking individuals to volunteer for its 2002 ski program for developmentally disabled adults.
Program training begins Jan. 18 and is held every Saturday afternoon through March. Call Rebecca Hanson, Horizons volunteer coordinator at 879-4466, ext. 116.
