Dowdell and Nelson
Marni Dowdell and Wylie Nelson were married Sept. 20, 2014, in a sun-dappled aspen grove at Perry-Mansfield in the happy company of family and many friends. Marni is the daughter of Charleen Byrne Dowdell and Tim Dowdell of Denver. Wylie is the son of Georgianne and Charles Nelson of Steamboat Springs. Marni and Wylie met in 2003 at Colorado State University where they were students. Bali was their honeymoon destination in November. They are at home in Louisville, Colorado, but frequently return to Steamboat.
Dermody and Harris
Win and Elaine Dermody, of Steamboat Springs, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Michelle (Shelly) Chauvin Dermody to Robert (Rob) Harris, son of William and Mrytle (deceased) Harris of Menlo Park, California. Shelly holds a master of adult education degree from Oregon State University and is employed as the computer technology educator for the Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon. Rob earned his Ph.D at the University of Utah and is a tenured geophysics professor at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. Both Shelly and Rob reside in Corvallis, Oregon
White and Balser
Melissa Gayle White and Dustin Joseph Balser are happy to announce their engagement. Melissa, of Dallas, Texas, is the daughter of Lee White, of Maui, Hawaii, and Jim White of Fort Worth, Texas. Melissa attended Steamboat Springs High School and graduated in 2004. She graduated from University of Colorado in 2008, and now works as a registered assistant at Homans Wealther Management. Dustin, of Dallas, Texas, is the son of Tanya Balser and Fred Balser, of Centerville, Ohio. Dustin graduated from Archibishop Alter High School in 2002 and from Ohio State University. He works as a regional vice president at Jackson National Life. The couple is planning at May 16, 2015, wedding in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sheroan and Faldet
Katie Sheroan and Nolan Faldet were married on Jan. 5, 2015. Katie is the dauther of of Tom and Joann Hartline, of Bridgman, Michigan, and Nolan is the son of Doug and Teresa Faldet, of Moorhead, Minnesota. The couple had an intimate outdoor affair overlooking the Yampa River in Steamboat Springs. A reception will be held for family and friends in August to celebrate the union. This year, the couple also will host the weddings of Katie’s twin sister in Michigan as well as her brother in Mexico. Nolan is on track to complete his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado Mountain College, and Katie is in the process of completing a degree in nursing locally. The couple plans to remain in Colorado for the foreseeable future.
Lamb and Novasio
John C. Lamb and Sara Novasio, of Steamboat Springs, are happy to announce their engagement. John is the son of Charles F. and Joan H. Lamb, of Littleton, and he is the president of Steamboat Energy Consultants. Sara is the daughter of Lewis Novasio, of Desoto, Kansas, and the late Betty J. May, of Laurel, Montana. John and Sara would like to invite their family and friends to join them in celebration of their vows in Holy Matrimony at 1 p.m. Saturday at Steamboat Christian Center.
Marsh and Palaniuk
Eric Marsh and Angela Palaniuk, of Steamboat Springs, are pleased to announce their engagement. Angela is the daughter of Joel and Diane Anderson, of Steamboat Springs. Angela graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 2007. She is a 2011 graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s of Liberal Arts degree in communication studies and business administration. Angela is the director of marketing at Colorado Group Realty. Eric is the son of Doug and Linda Marsh, of Sarasota, Florida, formally from Steamboat Springs. Eric was born and raised in Steamboat Springs. Eric received a Bachelor’s of Applied Human Sciences degree in construction management from Colorado State University. Eric currently works as the operations manager at Connell Resources. The couple is planning an August 2015 wedding in Steamboat.
Pollard and Stanton
Scott Pollard, son of Ron and Lois Pollard, of Steamboat Springs, and Kristi Stanton, daughter of Denny and Nancy Stanton, of Denver, were married in a lovely outdoor ceremony in Golden on Sept. 19, 2014. The warm and personalized ceremony was officiated by Kristi’s pastor the Rev. H. Loye Troxler with assistance by Scott’s childhood pastor, Rob Ryg. Scott’s brother-in-law Cal Brown served as best man and Kristi’s childhood friends Allison Schnelle served as matron of honor and Collene Smith as maid of honor. Pete Stoffel, Sheridan Webb and Todd Stanton also attended as groomsmen along with bridesmaids Karrie Dean and Ann Marie Stanton and flower girls Mia and Maise Schnelle. A special reading was given by Nicole Berry, the mutual friend of the couple who first introduced them. Mr. and Mrs. Pollard followed their fall wedding with a honeymoon in New England and have made a home in Lakewood.
Duran and Townsend
Erin Duran and Ethan Townsend are pleased to announce their engagement. Erin and is the daughter of Shauna and Marty Duran, of Steamboat Springs. She attended Steamboat Springs High School and graduated in 2011. She attended Front Range Community College and graduated in 2013. Erin works for Mountain Kids Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Ethan is the son of Rick Townsend and Lynn Barncastle, of Brighton. He attended Brighton High School and graduated in 2004. He attended Colorado State University, where he graduated from in 2007. Ethan works for Miramont Lifestyle Fitness as a personal trainer. Ethan and Erin are planning a June 27, 2015, wedding in Windsor, where they live.
Alperin and Lamb
Jamie Alperin and David Lamb were married July 22, 2014, after they both climbed Squamish Mountain (2,300 feet) in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, and were married on the top. Jamie is the daughter of Scott and Leslie Alperin, of Mayfield Heights, Ohio. David is the son of Rebecca and Larry Lamb, of Steamboat Springs. The officiant of the ceremony was Pep Fujas. Both sets of parents were at the bottom and greeted the couple after the ceremony and had a celebration. The couple resides in Steamboat Springs and planned to honeymoon in Bora Bora.
Lucas and Orsi
Louise and Jim Lucas are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Dr. Darren A. Lucas, of Steamboat Springs, to Katharine S. Orsi, daughter of Jennifer Orsi, of Melbourne, Australia. A ceremony and reception were held this summer at Eagle Ridge Country Club on Mornington Peninsula in Australia. The couple lives in Reno, Nevada, where the groom is completing his medical residency in psychiatry.
Cooper and Greubel
Morgan Cooper and Jeff Greubel, of Hayden, will be married Sept. 27, 2014, at Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club. The reception will be held at Olympian Hall at Howelsen Hill. Morgan is the daughter of Lyle Cooper and Theresa Joseph-Casey, of Greeley, and Jeff is the son of Mike and Diana Greubel, of Arvada. Cindy Medrano and Regina Sekyra are bridesmaids, and Kevin Cates and Bill Dunk are groomsmen.
Ham and Aragon
Hailey Nicole Ham and Brian Joseph Aragon were married on July 5 at the top of Mount Werner in Steamboat Springs. Hailey is the daughter of Lori and Rick Ham, of Heath, Texas. Brian is the son of Debbie and John Aragon, of Steamboat Springs. Hailey’s three sisters Michelle Lee, Katie Ham and Lauren Ham were part of the bridal party. Brian’s two brothers John and Jeff Aragon, along with his cousin, Alex Irick, and brother-in-law Steve Lee also were part of the wedding party. A reception was hosted at the Aragons' home in Steamboat. The couple reside in Rockwall, Texas, with their son Tate.
Aragon and Hickman
John R. Aragon and Kristin Hickman were married April 9, 2014, in a private ceremony in Bora Bora. John is the son of Debbie and John S. Aragon, of Steamboat. Kristin is the daughter of Kim and Ken Hickman, of Health, Texas. On June 1, a wedding reception was hosted for the couple at Alpine Mountain Ranch in Steamboat. The couple reside in Dallas, Texas.
Kurtz and Perricone
Cassidy Kurtz and Gaspar Perricone were married on July 19, 2014, at the Kurtz Ranch. Cassidy is the daughter of Mary and Peter Kurtz, of Steamboat Springs, and Gaspar is the son of Roger and Nancy Perricone, of Steamboat Springs. Cassidy and Gaspar graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 2002. Cassidy graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in animal science and agricultural business. She also received her master’s in animal science from Texas A&M University in 2009. Cassidy is currently employed by the Department of Animal Sciences at CSU in the Equine Science Program. Gaspar graduated from the University of Utah in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He is currently president and CEO of Bull Moose Sportsmen’s Alliance. The couple live in Fort Collins, and they will spend their honeymoon in Italy.
Rogers and Busse
Stacey and Cindy Rogers would like to announce the marriage of their daughter Ashley Rogers to Andrew Busse, son of Paul and Diane Busse, of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Ashley graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 2001 and from University of Colorado Boulder in 2005 with a degree in business. Ashley is a manager with KPMG. Andrew graduated from St. John’s High School in Massachusetts in 2001 and from University of Colorado Boulder in 2005 with a degree in biology. The wedding celebration was June 28, 2014, at the top of Mount Werner. Ashley and Andrew recently moved from Denver and are living in New York City.
